Increasing the Tether Distance is a feature that is very easily accessible in the game. All you really need to do is look around in the General Settings menu of the game when you are hosting a non-dedicated session. Here, find the Non-Dedicated Host Tether Distance option, which has a custom slider that allows you to change the value.
