A few weeks ago I tried to get the spare off to help a friend that had a blowout without a spare tire but we couldnt get the lock off.Now to solve the key problem I welded a 9/16" nut to the head of the key. Now you re-assemble the hoist back into the truck. To raise and lower the tire you just use an extension, a 9/16" socket and a ratchet.
