It gives +10% Goods produced, and +75% production efficiency in Grain and +50% production efficiency in Wine. It really makes the most terrible trade good suddenly shine, which I really like. For roleplay, unless you're thinking some clerical dominance or roman republic type shenanigans you probably want to remain a monarchy.
