Its a pretty widespread engine across all of GM's divisions, so if it was as bad as the Northstar's head gaskets, it could certainly be a major issue for owners. I believe there was a recall to flash an updated ignition timing and/or fuel map to the ECM, after some turbo owners ran 87 octane and caused engine damage. Then GM stopped putting the turbo in the SRX in 2011 so the one you're looking at must be a late 2010 build.2010-2012 SRX transmission issues. For those owner that have issues with the transmission shifting improperly here's a suggestion, since it won't trigger a CEL but will store codes and need to be pulled using a OBD tool or any AutoZone or Advanced Auto. We have had plenty of repairs of tahoes and such where we have to install oem cats and take of those junks converters. The most obvious thing about them is that they are cut out welded in.
