It will works with lower rexes but if u want to be sure they don't lose much health, that's the way. U can use megatheriums too but rexes will work for other battles too so they are worth. Mine were around 30k 1200 hatch and I leveled them til 100k health 1500 melee

Yesterday, my tribe and I successfully defeated the Alpha Broodmother for the first time. Initially, our tribe fought the Beta Broodmother with 18 megatheriums (~lvl 279, ~22k health, ~590% melee, ~47 armor saddles), one yuti (no imprinting, lvl 240ish) and a daeodon (no imprinting, lvl 240ish).

Total Rating N/A. Posted December 5, 2017. we did gamma and beta broodmother with 1 yuty (17k hp, 2k stam) and 19 rexes (30k hp, 450+ dmg, 60 armor saddles). had no problems with those. the rexes lost 10k hp on average. did it with 2 riders (1 on yuty and 1 on a rex) and solo (obv on yuty)
