J, With Gun Club hulls, Fiocchi primers, Claybuster CBO17812 (Gray) wad and 7/8 oz of shot I use a #28 bushing in a MEC that drops about 17.4 grains of TiteWad. Using it for league trap (22 yards max) and sporting clays, nice load for me. My 7/8 oz bar actually only drops about 360 grains of shot so ... Tons in Hodgdon's online data, but as mentioned several times already, look at TiteGroup or other powder suitable for 1 1/8 ounce shot loads (like Red Dot or 700-X or Competition). TiteWad is a 7/8 ounce payload powder in 12 gauge.Hodgdon specified a load of 4.8 grains of Titegroup. This averaged 809.9 fps with a very impressive 8.5 fps SD! Nate, My go to 7/8 oz. 12 ga. load is in fact about what you stated. I use the Fio 616 Primer, in either AA or Rem. cases. 17.3 grs. Clays, a WAA12L wad or the Claybuster clone the CB0178-12, and 7/8 oz. shot. To get a good crimp, you need a compact powder, and Tightwad works well. It makes a nice soft 1150 fps shotshell. My only gripe is that it is very prone to static electricity.

I have ended up with Titewad after powder shortage. Need recipes for 2 3/4" or 2 1/2" for 16 ga. Fiochii with 616 primer. I have sg16 or z16 wads. I can always use overshot cards to fill in, if needed. I am shooting clay targets with new Browning Citori White Lighting o/u. My problem is the second trigger not resetting after first trigger pull.If there isn't enough pressure for the powder to burn completely you will get inconsistent velocities and possibly a squib load. Using too light a payload can result in not enough pressure for complete powder burn.
