So my 07 Honda Pilot Check engine light and V-4 light came on at the same time. The code P0301 came up. (Cylinder 1 Misfire). Also, the code reader says battery voltage malfunction. The car has been running a little rough lately. It also hesitates a bit to start up every now and then.

Last night, after testing the battery at 12.4V after a short run of 10 minutes, I decided to replace the battery with a brand new one. My impression is that several systems work together and a problem in one system can cause another to misbehave also. Nov 22, 2008 · Check Engine light is on. After a few minutes the RPM's start to fluctuate between 1000-1500 in both Park and Neutral. The VTM Light has come on. Funny thing is when, I turn the A/C on the rough idle stops. VTM light stays on and so does the check engine light. Any ideas in the meantime would be greatly appreciated. VTM-4 and VSA will turn off as a precaution for many engine codes. Most likely, the P2138 is the root cause. The accelerator pedal is connected via a Bowden cable to an accelerator pedal position sensor assembly under the hood. I ran seafoam through the brake boost line today and reset the battery. Gonna drive it over the next few days and see if the light come back. Bad gas could be the cause. I would check the air filter to make sure it's ok and that nothing found a home in the airbox or intake. I would be looking at the air mass sensor. Had a problem with a bad MAF on a different car that threw the same codes. The VTM4 system utilizes Engine speed as reference, air leak will provoke bad flow meter measurement, increasing the engine speed above commanded by the ECM (is not a noticeable increment, just a hair of difference between engine commanded and actual speed will trigger the FC)
