Just took the surgery COMAT yesterday. I used COMQUEST and it seemed to be pretty representative of what was on the test. There were a few questions that were nearly exact. I know it’s supposed to be just like the Combank IM practice questions but I don’t want to waste those yet because I was planning on using them the last week before the comat. I was randomly assigned the IM COMAT Assessment on Combank and have to take it by tomorrow. I haven’t done a single combank question ... COMATs: OMM (summer before 3rd year): 97. Surgery: 94. OB Gyn: 92 (2nd toughest one for me cuz of vignette length and timing) Psych: 100. IM COMAT was canceled for me cuz of COVID back in March (would have told me a lot) FM: 97. EM: 94 (toughest one for me, made my own deck and rearranged everything) If you have extra time you could try dr.high yield on YouTube for rapid review of IM shelf topics, Emma holiday Im shelf review videos a few days before shelf. I personally only did uworld and nothing else and didn’t even finish more than 40% of the IM shelf questions. Definitely do UWorld IM shelf questions.

AMBOSS tends to have some more esoteric, kinda random questions that are lower yield. If you only do one, do UW. If you can afford both and love question banks, do both. Did truelearn CE and COMAT questions = 85%. After that I did Comquest CE and COMAT Questions = 92% (100th percentile for reference) and then on the COMAT there were probably 40 ish where I had to guess (30ish percent) whereas on truelearn I guessed on like 2-4 per block of 20 and comquest I guessed like 5-10 times total.Apr 22, 2015. #3. Does anyone know if the Family Medicine COMAT is anything like the 134 COMBANK FM specific COMAT questions?I think every COMAT had a different way for studying as well which was a pain in the ass. For IM, it’s ver broad but very similar to board prep questions. That said, it can be a tough COMAT because it can be all the systems.
