TL;DR - it really smooths out the recoil and works great with the Geissele H1 suppressed and unsuppressed.But go with what you can find. The real answer is 14.5. Spec war because being able to remove the barrel without first taking off all mlok attachments is a really nice feature they should have done in the first place. The gen1 piston barrels cycled cheap, low pressure stuff better than the gen2 in my experience. The gen2 struggles to be gassed enough to run reliably suppressed with a Rugged Razor 7.62.
