I have a 1985 merc 150 xr2 black max. The over heating horn is sounding off when it is up on plane. Thermostats are new as well as the impeller. I ran it with the thermostats out and the cover off and had lots of water coming out of both sides with the motor on. Tell tale is streaming water. It advances the timing a bit at 5000 rpm, then retards it at 5500 rpm, causing the torque curve to effectively hit the wall.
