My initial indications are Ruger has done the platform justice. Ruglins are a touch less classy, a touch less pretty, and every bit as functional as any Marlin you will shoot.

The marlin does have a beefier feel to it versus the henry, i think this is due to the thicker forend and barrel on the marlin. The new ruger Marlins don't have as thick of a forend as the older remington and Marlins did, but its still thicker and a bit longer than the Henry. I prefer this from a comfort and aesthetics perspective.
