We haven't seen that same sort of output from the Zelda team over the previous 6 years.

Zelda 2 is bad too but whilst it is 2D, it doesn’t follow the same format as most 2D Zeldas. The thing about "optimisation" is that you can always bring it up as a reason why the game doesn't run at X framerate. If it was a stable 30 FPS, you could say it's not optimised enough because it could run at 40.
