They usually release in batches so they can wait to see where late applicants fit in their pre-interview rank list.

Adding UWash to this surprisingly familiar list also definitely not derived from personal experiences. Pretty sure Emory doesn’t notify rejections until end of the interview season (Feb) from what i have seen, Tulane and Quinnipiac send pre-II rejections.
