1 Answer. I have a 2008 g6 with a check engine light one. I took it to a local auto parts store and they ran the code. it came back evap system problem but they can give me any details. They replaced that, after a week the light hasn't come on. Hi. I had the Check gas cap light, and I replaced the cap. I got Code PO496 now, and I believe it's the evap canister solenoid valve. Is it really on top of the gas tank? Do I have to lower the tank at all to access it? Or can I get to it an easier way?
