Hi, this is driving me up the wall since it stopped working. I've got a new TV with 2 HDMI 2.0 slots and 2 HDMI 1.4 slots. When I play FFXIV there is no sound at all from the game, I still get system audio as my TV makes the ding noise when I change the audio volume.

Hey guys, So from since I can remember, the sound in FFXIV crackles and pops every now and then in game, especially when the music amps up. I do not have this problem with any other game and recently upgraded my sound system for my PC and, the problem persists. Its a little too much to deal with anymore. If your ping is high you'd need to reposition earlier for most TOP mechanics. Also if your ping fluctuates your actions will still get canceled in some cases with Clippy/Alex.

All in all, FFXIV is a gigantic game filled with so much to do. You don’t have to just beeline the main scenario quests. Take a break. Go fishing. Level up a crafter. Go play minigames in the ...there's no way around it. The game detects audio device settings on startup and never again, so plugging in/unplugging headphones won't be detected properly. I've complained about it a few times on this board, and frankly I'm shocked a game of this budget wouldn't be smarter about it. That's poor programming.
