The service manager said the next time it happens, they will just replace the remote. You should have received 3 keys. My 2015 Premium has 2 keys with the remote and a valet key.

You'd be surprised how much crap is going to be down there. Spilled coffee and sodas draw dirt and the muck makes switches stick.
If your Subaru Forester key is stuck in the ignition, do the following sequentially to loosen it. Do not try to force the key out of the ignition, as this may create bigger problems. Check your battery's voltage. Wiggle the steering wheel. Push the shifter towards 'park' while gently turning the key. Lubricate the key.

The rear is closed which makes this difficult to get to and I do not know how to remove the back properly where the Subaru symbol is next to the button.Open the bottom cover enough so that the ignition cylinder is exposed. 2) Look for the sensor that is attached to the ignition cylinder. Unplug the small white connector attached to the sensor.
