First of all you are looking 5,000-10,000 on a motor. The turbos are not cheap nor the motor. To get 400-500 horses out of a 318 is not that difficult. I daily'd 5psi on the stock W59 5-speed and bone stock rear end until I upgraded to the W58, which is the same case basically but different ratios. I am now at 22lbs of boost, beating the **** out of the truck and racing it in autocross, and the W58 and stock 7.5 rear end with 4.11 gears and Detroit Tru-Trac LSD handle it no problem.

depends on how you drive it and how lucky you are. some guys are able to handle the 175hp tunes and some can barely handle the 60hp tunes. Boosted launches and drag/street racing will spell a quick end to a dodge tranny with over 100hp tunes. mine is stock, and I can slip the TC at 1100 rpms trying to get the rpms up at a stop light.

It's not always the HP that kills them, it is the torque, car weight, how hard the car leaves and rear gearing.It all has to do with the quality of the tune.
