Linear scaling currently exists, but this just ensures that pixels aren't interpolated and get blurry. The value of the new integer scaling is that the original low-res image is upscaled exactly x2, x3, etc. that means all the pixels will remain the same size, which can't be guaranteed when just using linear scaling.
