The 3 revolvers under observation are new one built in 2014 and two in 2021, they are all the same quality. 1. The hot blue finish is exceptionally fine in depth, luster and color. 2. Description: Manufactured in 1997, this SAA 3rd Gen comes with original hard plastic blue case, cylinder disc, assorted factory papers and original plastic. Nickel plated with ivory grips, 5 ½ inch barrel, .38-40 and appears unfired and unturned. I just recently purchased my first saa it's a 3rd gen. (1977) 45lc 7 1/2" barrel the gun appears to be un-fired, no box . The grips on it are chipped and fit like crap, gaps at the back of the frame, they are serial numbered to the gun. The bottom of the grip frame seems to be wider than other colt's I have handled.

It's not in any way a definitive sampling, but the grip frames on all the 3rd gens that I've owned/examined, are slightly longer (1/16" - 1/8"), than 2nd or 1st gens I've compared them to. 1st and 2nds in my experience are quite a bit closer in size to each other.
