Jeep wrangler limp mode reset.

I have a 2001 sport 4.0 5 speed and my jeep wont rev past 3000. Will just stall like there is a rev limiter there or something. Anyone seem this before? If you have a check engine light, it can go into limp mode and there is a rev limiter around 2500 RPM in that mode. Or, you could have a plugged cat. Ok.
