YES, the CEL needs to be cleared either by keeping the battery unplugged for a sufficient amount of time or clearing the code with a scanner (which you don't have yet).

If it does this then you can see marks on the insulation and it pulls oil from the breather into the intake system.This has been a problem for the past several months.
