Thaumaturge has a ton of great class feats too. I think this build works best in the rare campaign where you start at a fairly high level. You reduce the burden on ability scores and class feat tax substantially by either just picking up the Sentinel Dedication for a STR build, or using a DEX build and grabbing the Magus Dedicate + Raise a Tome.

Personally I would go with a 10 18 14 14 14 8 spread, and grab the following class feats: 1: Crossbow Ace. 2: Monster Hunter. 4: Running Reload. Grab monster warden later if you want to buff the monster hunter path, or swap monter hunter for hunter's aim if you want to be more of a basic DPR source.
