Then you can stop put the truck in neutral and then puch the 4LO button. The truck will not go into 4LO without first being in 4HI.I tried to get use to it and use it and then my dash lit up like a xmas tree. What I did- put it in neutral on flat level ground, hit the 4wd button and now I have three lights blinking at me- 4hi 4lo and center locking diff. Drove it slow, forward, reverse, hit 65, drove it 10 miles, shifted through all the gears and NOTHING has changed.Upon further inspection I forgot to connect the MAF sensor. Even after reconnecting the MAF the truck only cranks but never runs, with 4lo flashing but no check engine light. Occasionally when I start the vehicle, the 4lo light is flashing accompanied by a beeping alert, the transmission releases into a neutral position and the shift selector becomes essentially useless (you can toggle from Park through each setting including drive and the transmission will not engage). I tried turning it off and messing with the 4LO dial/traction control buttons and none of that did anything. The truck drove completely normal except for these lights. I was in 4-high. It was working fine. When I turned the switch to 4 low while in neutral, the light on the dash just blinked rapidly.
